Auction of Original Published Art

For the first time, over 50 pieces of one-of-a-kind original art created exclusively for some of the nation’s top publications will be offered at auction to the general public. Sponsored by the Graphic Artists Guild Chicago, the paintings, drawings, and concept sketches featured in the auction have been specially selected for this event by the artists who created them. Each piece has already appeared in print in Chicago and other national markets.

The pieces will go on the block November 22, 2002, at the 3 Arts Club, 1300 North Dearborn, with cocktails at 6:30 PM, a silent auction from 7 to 9:00 PM, and a live auction of selected art at 8:00 PM.
A portion of the proceeds go to support area Guild programs.

Some of the nation’s top illustrators are represented in the auction including Pat Byrnes, Thomas Gianni, Fran Gregory, Scott Gustafson, Nicole Hollander, Michael Hays, Gary Kelly, Richard Laurent, Cathy Blankley Roman, J.P. Schmelzer, Neil Shapiro and others, many of whom will be present at the event.

According to the Guild, the auction is a unique opportunity to own art that is already well known and not normally available to the general public.
