2005-11-02 eventDean Leonard Lehrer School of Fine and Performing Arts Columbia College Chicago Presents An Evening with Charles Santore: Children's Book Illustrator, Writer and Designer Wednesday, November 2nd, 2005, 6-9:30p.m. Columbia College Ferguson Auditorium 600 South Michigan Avenue Admission: FREE Charles Santore's award-winning illustrations have appeared in museums, exhibits, and libraries across the country and around the world. Most recently he garnered the Original Art 2000 Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators for A Stowaway on Noah's Ark, a unique adaptation of the Old Testament story. Santore is best known for his luminous interpretations of classic children's storieshis sumptuous edition of The Wizard of Oz has been called the quintessential illustrated version. Charles Santore lives and works in Philadelphia. Columbia College students and faculty, Graphic Artists Guild members, Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators members, and all their guests are all welcome. Members of C3, AIGA, ASMP, CWIP, GAG, IWOC, OBD & STA welcome, too! Books will be sold and Charles Santore will sign them at this event. Join us! |
