Richard Laurent has been principal of Laurent Design and Illustration since 1991. Before that he served as Creative Director for Encyclopaedia Britannica Films. During that period, he also drew editorial illustrations for The Chicago Reader, American Bar Association magazines and other national trade publications. His artwork is included in two current monographs on contemporary painting and drawing published by Jilin Fine Arts, China. In addition to illustration projects, Richard works as a fine artist as a result of ongoing study in classical painting techniques. He participated in Chicago's 'Cows on Parade' where his painted cow was among the top five sellers out of 100 auctioned.
